The mother of conjoined twins Tatiana and Krista Hogan has made a short video in support of Secular Pro-Life. Felicia Simms’ video comments on the argument used by pro-abortion groups who say “you don’t have the right to life unless you can live independently of someone else’s body.”
Tatiana and Krista Hogan (5) share brain tissue. One of the twins is also dependent on the other for an adequate blood supply. They cannot be surgically separated but enjoy good health and are reaching all their developmental milestones.
As well as this, her twins are truly unique in that they have a very unusual connection through their brain.
Simms explained, “Their brain stems are connected with a piece of tissue, and we believe that they can see and hear each other's thoughts through that connection, which is kinda awesome.”
Life News said that when Simms was five months pregnant she found out about the twin’s condition but refused to consider abortion. Because of this decision she received hate mail.

In 2010, the Daily Mail reported, “They called the girls freaks. The nameless letters said that I should never have had them.”
Recently Simms told CBS’s “60 Minutes,” “No matter what you look like, you're still a human being, so it doesn't matter if you're conjoined, if you have an awful disease or don't look like everybody else, you are still human and that's all that really matters.”
Simms believes that her twins chose her.
She told CBS, “I think if anybody else would have had these girls, they probably wouldn't be here right now…”
Kelsey Hazzard, the president of Secular Pro-Life, said, “Fortunately, the girls are too young to have understood those hateful messages. But that won’t last forever, and they are inevitably growing up in the public eye. This video is a way for the family to say, ‘These sweet girls have a right to be here, and they’ve always had a right to be here.’ Hopefully people will start to think before they speak.”
