It's admittedly a bit of a fixer upper, but a house that has been listed on the Irish property market this week may be the cheapest in Ireland.

Despite the fact that the Irish economy is still clawing its way back from a banking crisis and a plummeting property market, the fact is that the average Irish house price there is still pretty high.

So this unlikely bargain has hit the headlines since it fisrt appeared on the market in Letterkenny, County Donegal. According to Joe.ie just $12,700 will get you a two bedroom no frills property adjacent to the town centre.

Auctioneers Sherry Fitzgerald Rainey are naturally calling it a good deal, but then they would, wouldn't they?

'It is an older style two bedroom house enjoying a town centre location,' a spokesman for the estate agents told the press.

'It is in a quiet area off the main thoroughfare situation yet is right beside shops, pubs, restaurants and churches.

'It would be ideal for non car users as most amenities and facilities are within walking distance.

'General refurbishment and refit is required to modernize to current standards, but the reserve price will be  $12,700.'

Your dream home in Donegal? If so you may like to know that auction will be held on December 1. More details on the place can be found here.
