Roma Downey was recently named to the 2014 Women in Entertainment Power 100 list by the influential trade paper The Hollywood Reporter, which is no surprise given all that she’s got going on with her uber-producer husband Mark Burnett.

The duo has made religious-based programming cool thanks to the massive success of their miniseries The Bible last year on the History Channel. They’ll look for broadcast network gold starting next April as NBC announced the premiere of their latest series, A.D., on Easter Sunday, April 5, at 9 p.m.

“Picking up right where The Bible series left off, A.D. follows a harrowing yet uplifting journey through the birth of the church. In fact, the television event will detail the first 10 chapters of the Book of Acts, exploring the aftermath of Christ's death and its impact on his disciples, his mother Mary, and influential political and religious leaders of the time,” The Christian Post says of the series.

“We look forward to sharing these amazing performances with our audience, and in them we hope that people see themselves,” Downey said.
