Michael Fassbender reunited with his X-Men: First Class castmates, including Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, at the big Comic Con convention in San Diego last weekend to promote his hoped-for summer of 2014 blockbuster, X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Future Past features a mash-up all the X-Men from the various movies, including Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellen, who played an older version of Magento in the earlier X-Men flicks. Fassbender was a young Magento in First Class.

McKellen liked what he saw when he met Fassbender in San Diego. “I just want to say it's great to be back in California,” McKellen said.  “I feel safe here now that you've gotten rid of Proposition 8. I'm looking for a husband.”

With that he took one look at the Irish star Fassbender and playfully remarked, “It’s great to meet you Michael.”

Well, gay or straight, who wouldn’t want to marry Fassbender, who will be all over our screens come fall.

Look for him as the top star in The Counselor in October, based on an original screenplay by Cormac McCarthy. Fass plays a man “seduced by the promise of easy cash who eventually gets drawn into a seedy world of vicious criminals, international drug-running, beheaded motorcyclists, and at least a couple of cheetahs,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

The film co-stars a bunch of heavy hitters including Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz.  Check out the trailer on YouTube.

Pitt and Fassbender also re-team for the hotly anticipated film 12 Years a Slave, which sees Fassbender play a plantation owner. That one opens on October 18.
