Leinster ran Northampton ragged in a 40-7 Heineken Cup win last weekend and hope to have flanker Sean O’Brien fit for Saturday’s return at the Aviva Stadium.

O’Brien picked up a dead leg in the first game but expects to be fit for the Dublin encounter. Isaac Boss and Cian Healy should also both return.

Luke Fitzgerald scored a hat-trick of tries on Saturday with the others coming from Jamie Heaslip, Eoin Reddan and Brian O’Driscoll.

Coach Matt O’Connor praised O’Driscoll. He said, “Brian gives the group so much. His experience and composure gives the other guys confidence and that’s the most pleasing thing.

“He hasn’t been in our environment that much this season, but what he gives to the rest of the boys in training and the field is massive.

“This season that’s certainly the best we’ve played. The first 20 minutes were very, very good. The scoreline wasn’t indicative of how hard the game was. We played really well and they were a little inaccurate.”

Meanwhile, Ulster were full value for a seven try 48-0 win over Treviso in their Heineken Cup clash at Ravenhill on Saturday night.

Coach Mark Anscombe said. “The manner in which we went about our work and to score seven tries and nearly scored 50 points and concede none, well, you’ve got to be happy.”
