Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny will visit several U.S. cities for St. Patrick’s celebrations, culminating with a meeting with President Obama at the White House on Tuesday, March 19. The Obamas will also host their annual St. Patrick’s reception in the White House that evening in honor of Kenny and his wife Fionnula.

Kenny is due to arrive in the U.S. on March 15. On the morning of the 16th he will attend the annual St. Patrick’s breakfast hosted by Mayor Michael Bloomberg at Gracie Mansion, where he will speak about The Gathering 2013 tourism initiative and encourage greater U.S. investment in Ireland.

Kenny will then attend Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the breakfast co-hosted by New York Governor Mario Cuomo and the Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the U.S. 

Kenny also plans to meet with members of the local Irish community groups that organized the successful Irish Days of Action in the Rockaways after Hurricane Sandy.  On Sunday morning, he will head to the Breezy Point section of the Rockaways where he will attend Mass and meet with local community organizers. 

Kenny’s U.S. itinerary also includes a stop on the West Coast, where he will meet Irish companies based in Silicon Valley.
