The London footballers enjoyed some divine inspiration as they shocked Leitrim by 2-11 to 1-13 in their Connacht SFC semi-final replay in Dr. Hyde Park on Sunday.

The Londoners will now meet hot favorites Mayo in their first Connacht final appearance, with manager Paul Coggins keen to revisit Knock Shrine ahead of their next big test.

He revealed after Sunday’s sensational win that a visit to the Mayo shrine helped his team to their win over Leitrim.

“We came into Knock and the visit to Knock Shrine was deliberate. Look at them lads, every inch of effort they put in all year came through in the end. We didn’t want to concede a goal, that was the major thing,” Coggins said.

“Two teams contributed to a very exciting game and thank God we went to Knock on Saturday on the way.  Something happened to make us hold on at the end.

“We worked hard together, That was our focus. We wanted to get into a Connacht final for the first time, we really wanted to do that. We have achieved that and now we have to work to give the best performance that is possible in the Connacht final.”
