Colin Farrell and Quentin Tarantino probably won’t be working together any time soon. Oscar winning screenwriter Tarantino is none too impressed with the HBO series True Detective which starred Farrell for the recently-wrapped second season, and in his usual style wasn’t shy about saying so.

"I tried to watch the first episode of season one. I didn't get it at all. I thought it was really boring. And season two looks awful,” Tarantino told New York magazine.

"Just the trailer, all these handsome actors trying not to be handsome and walking around like the weight of the world is on their shoulders. It's so serious, and they're so tortured, trying to look miserable with their mustaches and grungy clothes."

Farrell’s run as corrupt cop Ray Velcoro received a mix bag of reviews, and the series, which did okay in the ratings, definitely didn’t attract the attention that was lavished on season one.

No matter. Colin is set for a starring role in the Harry Potter prequel Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He’ll play a wizard named Graves, and principal photography has already begun on the J.K. Rowling written film.
