Ulster dominated proceedings from start to finish in this junior hurling contest, with Luke Loughlin and Ger McFettridge unstoppable with a combined 5-12 between them.

It would have been 10 but for the brilliant play of Dermot Kenny. The wily veteran stopped at least five goal bound efforts with a superlative performance.

Ulster kept gunning for net shakers, but he never shirked in his responsibility as the net minder and is to be commended for his courage and performance.

The defensive strength of Peter Hatzer and Chris Teague stopped numerous attacks in the spacious 10 on 10 field, with Brian McNaughton called on a just sparingly in the Ulster net.

Dermot Caulfield did show brightly in attack with 1-3 over the hour but he was pushed out the field further and further. Matt Schumacher had two very good scores in the second half and kept battling; it was a lost cause however.

On the scoring front, it was 4-8 to 0-3 at the break with Loughlin grabbing a pair. In the second half more of the same with the saving grace Dermot Kenny.
