Legends of Gaelic games past and present will be in the New York Plaza Hotel on Thursday, October 2 for the third annual Gaelic Players Association (GPA) Ireland-US Gaelic Heritage Awards.

With the dust just settling on their thrilling All-Ireland victories, Kerry star Marc Ó Sé and Kilkenny seven-time medal winner Jackie Tyrrell will among the traveling party with the Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy trophies in tow.

This star-studded line up will be in New York to pay tribute to this year’s Gaelic Heritage Award recipients, Mike Brewster of Credit Suisse and leading lawyer Tom Moore of Kramer Dillof Livingston and Moore, both of whom are being honored for their outstanding support for Gaelic players and the work of the GPA.

The visiting party will be headed by the GPA Chief Executive Dessie Farrell, who paid tribute to this year’s honorees. “Tom and Mike are two extraordinary Irishmen who have been outstanding allies of the Gaelic Players Association since we first developed our support network in New York,” he said.

Among the legends present at the Dinner Gala will be GPA chairman and former Cork hurler Donal Óg Cusack, current Tyrone football star and former player of the year Sean Cavanagh, Mayo hero Kevin O’Neill, Dublin football icon Jason Sherlock, former Clare hurling all-star Tony Griffin and Galway’s 1980 All-Ireland hurling winning captain Joe Connolly.

Farrell added, “The aim of our annual dinner gala and fundraising efforts in the U.S. is both to strengthen our ability to support our players in critical areas of their lives and to bolster the GPA’s ambition to make a meaningful difference in Irish society.”
