Irish director Lenny Abrahamson, Oscar nominated this year for his acclaimed film Room, will switch to TV for his next big project.

The 49-year-old Dubliner will direct and executive produce a new series for Hulu called Chance, which will star Hugh Laurie, beloved for his role in the old Fox medical drama House. Hulu execs have given the go-ahead for a two season, 20 episode run.

According to Variety, “Chance is described as a provocative psychological thriller that focuses on a forensic neuro-psychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.”

The show will debut sometime this year.
