Colin Ryan hit a goal and 12 points as Clare booked their place in the Waterford Crystal Cup final with a 2-28 to 1-4 win over UCC in Sixmilebridge on Sunday.

The All-Ireland champions will meet Tipperary or the University of Limerick in the decider after their semi was postponed on Sunday due to a waterlogged pitch.

Ryan and Clare proved too hot to handle for the Cork students last weekend, but he knows the challenges will be greater as the season progresses.

“We know that if we’re to keep ahead of the rest we have to work twice as hard ‘cos they are all looking to knock us a small bit,” Ryan said.
“We’re up there, we don’t want to be knocked off so we’ll work as hard as we can to do that. Get a good start and it builds confidence.

“The whole team is showing form. There’s plenty of lads there, Bobby Duggan is flying it so I think I have to continue what I’m doing. You want to continue winning and you want to continue working hard.”
