An Irish mother, who lost her son in the 9/11 attacks has spoken about how she still sees her son Joe in her dreams, a decade after he was killed.
Joe Hunter (31) was one of the 364 firefighters who perished, during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
Speaking from her home in Long Island, Joe’s mother Bridget spoke to the Evening Herald about the heartbreak of losing her son.
"When he went to work that day, I kissed him goodbye and said 'God bless you,' never thinking what would happen," Bridget told the Evening Herald.
A native of Connemara, Bridget and her husband Joseph Snr along with their family will attend the special memorial ceremony this coming Sunday at Ground Zero, which will be attended by U.S. president Barack Obama.
She said she was moved by the “wonderful” RTE Radio One documentary made by Joe Kearney.
