An Irish mother of two young children, who was one of Cork city's leading business women, has died after a fall in her Brooklyn home.

Hazel Morrison-Frank, 37, the co-owner of Concept Creative Consultants in Cork, passed away on Sunday ten days after falling down the stairs of her Brooklyn home.

Morrison-Frank had been planning to visit her native Ballingarry, County Limerick with her husband Andrew and their two young children, Caoilainn, 3, and 14-month-old Cian – for Christmas.

Instead, according to the Evening Echo, her remains were flown into Shannon Airport yesterday for burial on Sunday.

The successful marketing executive had moved from Cork to New York in 2009 after her marriage to Andrew. They had married in the Honan Chapel in University College Cork.

Morrison-Frank had recently set up her own brand consultancy firm in New York and had also worked with Fragrances of Ireland, which produces the Inis fragrances.

She was listed among the 100 businesswomen in Cork in the 2006 "Who’s Who of Cork’s Leading Business Women," by Business Cork magazine.

Her sister Triona told the press: 'She fought hard for ten days but passed away on Sunday. We had a wake for her in Brooklyn on Wednesday night. There were three sisters of us in the family and we were very close. She still loved Ireland very much and she and Andrew had built a second home in Ballingarry.'

Triona said Hazel’s remains will lie in repose in O’Grady’s funeral home in Ballingarry on Saturday from 4.30 P.M. to 7.30 P.M. before removal to the local church. She will be buried on Sunday after noon Mass.

In addition to her husband and two children, Morrison-Frank is survived by her parents Ned and Mary, her brothers John-Paul and Aidan and by sisters Aisling and Triona.
