An Irish-American wife allegedly drove 250 miles to shoot her husband’s mistress last Friday, after he refused to end the affair.

The Huffington Post reports that Shannon O’Roark Griffin (52) learned about her husband, Roscoe Griffin’s, extra-marital affair during a marriage counseling session in Kansas last Friday.

Later that afternoon, O'Roark Griffin drove to the home of her husband’s lover, a Romanian psychiatrist, Irina Puscariu, and shot her in the face three times. The victim’s mother was at home at the time of the shooting and witnessed the murder, police said.

The 52-year-old former NASA employee was charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action.

It is understood that Puscariu had broken off her relationship with Griffin after she discovered he was married, according to a retired Kansas City police officer who was friends with the victim.

When officers from the Kansas Highway Patrol caught O’Roark Griffin, she admitted she had two unloaded handguns in the car.

The Kansas City Star
reports that Roscoe Griffin is a senior aerospace instructor with the Air Force Junior ROTC.

Speaking about the victim, Todd Hill, a Kansas City-area psychiatrist, described her as a hard worker.

“I know that the staff there had nothing but good things to say about her. She was a trusted colleague, well-liked and dedicated,” he told the Kansas City Star.

The defendant is being held in Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond.
