Invest Northern Ireland is supporting this year’s event as is Titanic Quarter, one of Europe’s largest waterfront developments, which has become involved in this year’s event at the request of Envoy Kelly in support of the overall U.S. economic mission to Northern Ireland.

The ceremony is considered one of the premier business events of the year on the Irish American calendar and past speakers have included political leaders, Senator John McCain, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and Taoiseach Brian Cowen. Business leaders recognized at the event in the past have included Brendan McDonagh CEO of HSBC North America, John Duffy, Chairman and CEO Keefe, Bruyette and Woods, Charles Carey, Vice Chairman of CME Group, Inc., Brian Moynihan, President and CEO of Bank of America and Don Keough, Chairman of Allen and Company and former President of Coca-Cola. The event recognizes the winners for their outstanding business success and also for their contributions to the Irish-American community.

"We are delighted that Invest Northern Ireand and the Titanic Quarter are part of this great annual event said Irish America editor Patricia Harty. "We have created a network with the Wall Street 50 which has become an invaluable resource for  all of Ireland and Irish America."

“This event demonstrates the strong role Irish Americans continue to play on Wall Street and I am very pleased to say that many members of the U.S. Working Group supporting our economic mission to Northern Ireland are among the past award winners,” said Envoy Kelly.

“Invest Northern Ireland and the Titanic Quarter each play important roles in attracting new foreign direct investment to Northern Ireland and their partnership with Irish America Magazine provides a very valuable opportunity to showcase Northern Ireland as part of our ongoing strategic investment and development plan,” concluded Envoy Kelly.

“As the lead agency for developing inward investment to Northern Ireland, Invest NI is delighted to continue its support of the Wall Street 50 Awards which recognize the splendid achievements of Irish Americans in financial services,” stated Gary Hanley, Invest NI’s SVP, North America.

Michael Graham, Titanic Quarter’s Director of Corporate Real Estate added: “Financial Services are an integral element of Titanic Quarter and we’re currently progressing plans to develop Northern Ireland’s first Financial Services Centre.  Given that Titanic Quarter now benefits from Europe’s fastest fiber optic link to North America, we believe that the 600,000 sq ft centre will be a major draw for inward investors and jobs.  We’re delighted with this opportunity to showcase Belfast’s agile workspace and talent in the heart of Wall Street.”

The 185-acre Titanic Quarter development is based on the site where the Titanic was designed and built.  The scheme is home to tourism, commercial, residential, education, creative media and hotel space.  U.S. corporations such as Citigroup have already located their Northern Ireland operations in the Titanic Quarter.
