The Irish Aviation Authority has released a statement declaring that all Irish Airport will remain open until 8am tomorrow morning, at least.

It seems the cloud of volcanic ash is ever present. The Aviation Authority has reported that it is current in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean stretching from Greenland to the Iberian Peninsula in Spain.

Due to its location flights to the Iberian or Canary Islands may be disrupted.

As a result of the disruption in Europe from the ash cloud flights from Dublin, Cork and Belfast to Malaga and the Canary Islands have been cancelled.

A further statement will be issued this afternoon in case of a shift in the wind.

Those planning to travel over the coming days are advised to check their airline websites and the IAA website in advance of going to the airport.
