Former reality TV “Dragon’s Den” star Sean Gallagher has topped the latest poll of support among business leader. Gallagher relieved 62 percent of the support according to the Irish Times Ipsos/MRBI poll.

Michael D Higgins the Labour Party candidate received 13 percent of the vote while Sinn Fein’s candidate Martin McGuinness received nine percent. David Norris received no votes.

Prior to this the most recent Paddy Power/Red C poll showed Higgins at 23 percent and Gallagher at 20 percent.

Speaking about his aims as president Gallegher said “As President, I would want to do for enterprise and job creation what President Mary Mc Aleese did for the peace process because local employment is what holds our communities together."

Support has been pouring in over the last number of days including a music video posted online by Irish YouTube sensation Zena Donnelly, aged 9. The schoolgirl sings her tune “Sean Gallagher for President” to the tune of Justin Bieber’s song “Baby”.

Zena’s mother is the cofounded of the Baby Max Wings of Love, Dara Ni Chuinneagain. She explained that Gallagher is a supporter of the charity and Zena wanted to show her gratitude.

Responding to the video Gallagher tweeted “I want to thank Zena, a young supporter of mine. This would put a smile on anyone’s face.”
