A young Irish American boy is being hailed for his quick thinking. 12 year old Patrick Canney was riding in the car with his father and sister when it began to coast, due to his dad having a seizure.

According to Fox News Boston, the cool-headed young kid grabbed the wheel and managed to get the car off the road on Interstate 95 in Dracut, Massachusetts.

Canney's driver's license won't come for years yet, but he already knows how to steer himself out of a dangerous situation, and already he's being hailed as a hero.

Canney's dad suffered a seizure and after they were safely off the road his son reached into his pocket to call 911.

It's the latest in a string of heroics for the modest kid. Six years ago the family's house reportedly caught fire and young Canney ran back into the burning building to grab a fire extinguisher and help. He was only 6 years old at the time.

Patrick's dad is reportedly recovering and will be just fine after the incident.
