Eric Eoin Marques, whom the FBI thinks is the largest facilitator of child porn in the world, appeared in Dublin’s high court and was remanded to remain in custody for two more weeks.

Judge John Edwards said he would the hearing for the case to go ahead sooner rather than later and the case will be heard again on November 26, 2013.

Wearing a grey hooded sweater, Marques appeared in court for a brief mention and waved to some onlookers before being led away.

He is wanted in the United States on four charges linked to website images of extremely violent, graphic and depicting the rape and torture of prepubescent children.

Marques, who holds both US and Irish citizenship, was previously denied bail after the judge accepted evidence from the FBI and the Irish police that he was a flight risk or likely to destroy evidence if released. Marques is fighting extradition and wants his case to be heard in Ireland. He is being held in Mountjoy Square in Dublin.

He is wanted in connection with the advertizing of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, conspiracy to advertize child pornography, and conspiracy to distribute child pornography.

Marques is also accused of being the only administer of an anonymous hosting server called Freedom Hosting where the FBI claims thousands of members posted millions of pictures of child pornography.
