Will Ferrell, who’s proud of his Irish roots, was keen to jump into the River Liffey during his recent visit to Dublin. He wasn't even put off by the December chill as he vowed to do it "in the buff."

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, he said: "Right about 1am in the morning, if you have the courage to do it, join us."

The 46-year-old funnyman was joined by his co-star Paul Rudd for the 'Anchorman 2' premier in the Irish capital. Rudd joked that the Irish authorities had prevented him from bringing Sex Panther Cologne – a favorite of his character Brian Fantana – into the country.

He quipped: "It has been outlawed by most governments. It really is probably for the safety of most citizens."

Meanwhile, Steve Carell – who plays weatherman Brick Tamland in the cult comedy – hasn't ruled a third film and revealed the cast would consider reuniting in 10 years time.

He said, "We'll see how this one goes. If people like it, maybe 10 years from now we'll do a third."
