County Wicklow dancer Tristan MacManus has another shot at winning the mirrorball trophy of ABC’s ballroom competition, “Dancing with the Stars”. This season he is partnered with Pamela Anderson. During her first time on the show in 2010, Anderson had been eliminated in week seven of the competition.

This time Anderson means business. She has taken a vow of celibacy until she has finished the competition. The “Baywatch” actress told People.com “I’ve sworn off men until November.”

The pair hit the dancefloor with a hot cha cha in the All Stars’ two night premiere, which started on September 24 on ABC. They are competing against stars Apolo Anton Ohno, Emmitt Smith, Joey Fantone, Kelly Monaco, Sabrina Ryan, and Shawn Johnson among others.

The judges weren’t impressed by MacManus and Anderson’s commitment. The couple scored an evening low of seventeen points out of a possible thirty. Anderson said backstage that she knows she’s not the best dancer, but hopes that viewers will look past that because she has other strengths. She hopes to show that she has a lot of heart and a lot of guts. MacManus is also staying positive and already looking to make next week’s performance better.

MacManus first joined Dancing with the Stars in season 12 and was partnered with Nancy Grace in season 13. The following season he danced with soul singer Gladys Knight.

Before coming to Dancing with the Stars, MacManus has starred in several theater productions throughout Ireland, including the Cork City Opera House and the Gaiety Theater. He has also toured through the UK in a production of Simply Ballroom and through Australia and Americaas a featured dancer in Burn the Floor and Floorplay. He then taught Latin and ballroom dance in Boston for a year before returning to the West End in London.
