Dublin rockers U2 and the 'Halo' singing diva Beyonce are said to be the headline acts for this years world famous Glastonbury Festival in England.

Last year U2 were forced to cancel their headline slot at the festival following Bono's emergency back surgery. It's believed that they will be one of the main acts this year alongside the British band Coldplay.

Entertainment website Holymoly.com reported that U2 will play the pyramid stage on Friday, June 24, with Beyonce taking up the Saturday night slot and Coldplay playing the most prestigious Sunday night gig.

Beyonce has never played the festival before but she did attend in 2008 when her husband, Jay-Z, headlined the festival.

Previously the festival’s organizer Michael Eavis said that he was keen to bring another massive U.S. name to the festival. He said, "There's an American artist that I’ve been wanting to have for years and yonks and yonks and yonks."

Last year the Gorillaz picked up U2's slot. Muse and Stevie Wonder also headlined.
