Well, it had to be someone. Tristan MacManus and Pamela Anderson have been the first duo to be voted off of this season’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ All-Stars edition on ABC.

Michael Maloney for TODAY spoke with MacManus just after the results show on Tuesday night. Coming in to the all-stars season, Pamela Anderson was one of only two Stars who hadn’t made it to the finals her first season on the show, making her a bit “under-doggy” in her own words for this season.

"Obviously, she’s disappointed," MacManus said when speaking after the show. "We both are. Nobody wants to go first, but at the same time, somebody needs to go so the others can move on."

On Monday’s season premiere, MacManus and Anderson danced a cha-cha-cha that got poor reviews from the judges, who awarded them only 17 points out of a possible 30, the lowest score of the evening.

Despite her poor performance on Monday’s competition show, Anderson was optimistic backstage after their dance. “I know I bring other things to the table,” Anderson said. “I know I'm not the best dancer, but I have a lot of heart and I have a lot of guts, and I want to be able to portray that."

"It’s a story that Pam wanted to tell in the dance," MacManus said to reporters following the results show. "Granted, it didn’t go as well (as we would have liked.) We didn’t get a lot of rehearsal time, but we can’t use that as an excuse. Other people have injuries and commitments."

Anderson was noticeably absent from most of the press following the results show on Tuesday. MacManus explained that her family had flown out for the show, and she chose to spend time with them before they had to head back home.

So what’s next for the ‘DWTS’ regular Tristan MacManus? "It’s hard to feel like you’re a part of the competition when you go so early, but if they want me to dance on Tuesdays I will," he said.

"I think of it this way -- I still have 12 (pairs of) friends in the competition."
