Arthur Cox, one of the world’s leading law firms, in conjunction with the Irish International Business Network (IIBN) is set to host a fashion showcase event in New York as part of series of events designed to support Irish business by connecting Irish fashion designers with the business communities in Dublin, London, and New York. The events build on the success of a similar scale event hosted by the firm in London in 2011.

Following the success of the Dublin show which was held in the Westin Hotel, College Green, this spectacular event will be held in the Irish Consulate in New York on October 10th, followed by the third and final event in the series which will take place in the Aviva Tower at St Helen’s in London on October 17th 2012.

The event will showcase a mix of fashion forward, business attire, and day to evening wear, involving looks from a number of top Irish designers including Jen Kelly, Sandra Murphy, Jacqueline Quinn, Polly McGettigan, Sinead Lawlor, Louise O’Leary (designer of Louloubelle bags) and Joanne Hynes amongst others.

Kathleen Garrett, Partner, Head of London Office, Arthur Cox commented on the initiative, “Through our offices in Dublin, London and New York we hope to help create a platform for Ireland’s supremely talented designers to connect with potential new clientele and further pave the way for business in these markets.

“We see Irish design as something which should be celebrated, and we are happy to play any role in helping to build the profile of these superb designers in the markets in which we have a presence.”

Irish Designer Jen Kelly, who is taking a lead role in the initiative, added, “Having been instrumental in the coordination of the firm’s successful event last year in London, I jumped at the opportunity to get involved again this year.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for top Irish designers to showcase our designs to new audiences both in Dublin and in key fashion hot spots of London and New York. It is exactly this type of support that the fashion industry needs at the moment and these events will act as a springboard for heightening awareness of Irish handcrafted designs amongst key target audiences.”

Sinead Crowley, Executive Director of IIBN added, “We are delighted to partner with Arthur Cox on this event again this year – it is fast becoming a highlight in the calendar and is a superb means of helping the Irish design community to build connections in foreign markets.”
