The O'Shea Chaplin Academy of Irish Dance championship dancers performed last week at Fenway Park as part of the park's 100-year anniversary. It was a great honor and privilege for the school to dance at America's oldest ball park. The dancers also performed at the Pawtucket Red Sox game last Sunday at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and will take over 30 elite dancers to national competitions in Chicago later this week.

Rita O'Shea, a certified adjucator of Irish Dance and champion dancer, founded the Academy in Galway, Ireland, in 1954. Rita moved to the Boston area in the 1960s to teach both traditional and contemporary Irish dance, where she continues to do so full-time.

The Academy's dancers perform year-round at parades and other events.
