Performing songs from her new album “The Gift”, Susan Boyle was greeted by hundreds of eager New York fans yesterday at the Rockefeller Center in New York city.

The 49-year-old singer was backed by a choir of children when she performed some Christmas tracks for her fans including, “Holy Night”. The Scottish singer was in the Christmas spirit as she waved her festive red scarf in between performances.

Susan also sang a duet with the winner of Susan's Search, a global competition which offered the winner the opportunity to sing a duet with the star on her new album.

Amber Stassi, a mother of three from Brewerton, New York was chosen as the winner because of what Susan described as “a lovely, very beautiful voice”.

The pair performed their duet “Do You Hear What I hear?”

Crowd's clearly enjoyed Boy's mini-concert as they waved cardboard cut outs of the singers face.

The star has topped the Billboard charts with her new album for the second week in a row. Last week it was announced that Susan was the only female artist to have two number one albums in both the U.S. and the UK in the same year. The feat was last achieved by the Beatles almost 4 decades ago.

Susan will remain the U.S. over the coming days when she will give a special Thanksgiving day performance on Matt Lauer's People Of The Year.
