Katie Holmes has enrolled her daughter Suri in an exclusive Catholic school in Manhattan – a move true to her own Irish Catholic upbringing.

Just weeks after her split from Hollywood legend and Church of Scientology member Tom Cruise, it has emerged that their child will attend the prestigious Convent of the Sacred Heart.

The $38,000-a-year school includes Lady Gaga, Jordana Brewster, Paris Hilton, Caroline Kennedy and the late Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt on its alumnae list.

Suri Cruise, now six, is to start the new school term in September at the convent according to media reports.

As part of her curriculum, Suri will be obliged to attend Catholic mass every Thursday.

Her 33-year-old mum has rented a $12,500-a-month apartment in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood following the split from Cruise.

Holmes and estranged husband Tom Cruise, 50, have vowed in a statement that they "are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri's best interests."

Although the "Romantics" actress has received primary custody of Suri, Cruise has been granted visitation rights.

Holmes attended Notre Dame Catholic School in Toledo, Ohio where she was discovered by talent agent Margaret O’Brien.
