Songs for the Nov. 25-27 Irish dancing competitions – VIDEOS

by PATRICIA MCNAMARA, Feis America Magazine contributor

Heading to Florida this weekend for the Glas Tara Feis? Or maybe you’re competing in the Mid-Atlantic Oirechtas in Pennsylvania or the Mid America Oireachtas in Illinois?

No matter your competitive destination this weekend, we want to share four “thank you” tunes you should add to your own playlist before lacing up and taking the stage. Best of luck to all competitors and be sure to come back and share your results with us!

“Thank You Friends” – Big Star
Play this for the cheering team who came out to watch you dance.

“Thank You” – Dido
The combination of the beat and Dido’s smooth voice is calming, and it will make you appreciate your supportive family and friends.

“Thank You for the Music” – ABBA
We all know dance just wouldn’t be the same without the tunes.

“Thankful” – Kelly Clarkson
Consider this an open thanks to Irish dance and how much joy it brings. Sing it in your head before you go up on stage, and you’ll be even more grateful while you’re out there.
