Cecilia Ahern, the daughter of Ireland’s former Taoiseach (prime minister), Bertie, had a 6-pound baby girl in Dublin’s Rotunda Hospital yesterday.

Ahern and her partner, David Keoghan, issued a statement saying they were “delighted to announce the arrival of a baby girl, Robin” according to the Belfast Telegraph.

As well as being daughter of the former Taoiseach, Cecilia has earned fame in her own right. The 28-year-old has written seven bestselling books, and her first book “P.S. I Love You,” became a Hollywood movie starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler.

The film was about a young widow who finds 10 letters that her husband wrote for her before he died.

Ahern has not experienced that sadness in her own life. She has been a brilliant commercial success, and is looking forward to becoming a mother, the Belfast Telegraph reported.

She said the baby was “the greatest gift I've ever been given. It's the most important thing that's ever happened to me. I've never been so excited in my life ... and I've had a lot of exciting things happen to me.”
