Morrissey has been added to the list of celebrities caught up in a scandal after inaccurately comparing the tragedies in Norway to different situations.

The controversial singer has said that the attacks in Norway are “nothing” in comparison to the acts of fast food chains during a performance in Warsaw, Sunday night.

The 52-year-old singer has been an advocate for vegetarianism for years and has been outspoken about his fight against fast food chains like McDonald’s, KFC, etc for their killing of animals. Before opening his hit “Meat is Murder,” Morrissey brought up Friday’s events in Norway.

“We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonald’s and Kentucky Fried S*** every day,” he said, stating the death toll that was known at that current time.

A spokesman for the singer said: “Morrissey has decided not to comment any further as he believes his statement speaks for itself.”
