Comic Relief has been a yearly feature on BBC television since 1985 and this year they will place boy band sensation One Direction in the pages of a monthly Beano spin-off, the BBC reports.

The children’s magazine, BeanoMAX, will see the One Direction stars help Dennis The Menace and Minnie The Minx put on a charity show.

The comic, which will be guest edited by TV Burp’s Harry Hill, will feature the boys alongside well loved characters such as Dennis The Menace and other chosen celebrities Jessie J, Olly Murs and David Tennant.

When asked about their Comic Relief venture, the band replied: “We’ve grown up with the magazine so now to actually appear in it with Dennis and Gnasher themselves is incredible.”

The Beano special will become available to the public on Wednesday 6 March.
