An all star line up including Ireland’s own star Coin Farrell, as well as Mikey Rourke, Christopher Walken and Sam Rockwell will star in Martin McDonagh’s newest dark comedy.

“Seven Psychopaths” will see McDonagh, the Irish playwright behind the critically acclaimed “In Bruges”, once again join forces with Dubliner Farrell.

The new dark comedy is currently being sold at the Cannes Film Festival.

According to Variety, the new drama, written and directed by McDonagh will revolve around a
screenwriter played by Farrell who comes down with a bad case of writers block while struggling to find inspiration for a new script.

Farrell ends up getting involved in the dog kidnappings schemes of his eccentric friends played by Rockwell and Walken.

The situation takes a turn for the worst when the beloved pet of a local gangster, played by Rourke, goes missing. Convinced Farrell is guilty of the crime, chaos ensues.

Irish playwright McDonagh, had his screenwriting and directorial debut in 2008 with “In Bruges”, an Oscar nominated drama starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson.

Walken and Rockwell also worked alongside McDonagh in the Broadway hit, ““A Behanding in
Spokane” in 2010.
