Northern Irish actor Liam Neeson has reportedly been offered $20 million to reprise the role of CIA agent Bryan Mills in ‘Taken 3’.

The first ‘Taken’ movie from 20th Century Fox and EuropaCorp recouped its budget in the opening weekend in 2009.

Neeson, 61, was a ‘reluctant participant’ in ‘Taken 2’ before a $15million pay packet was negotiated. The sequel, which had a budget of $45 million, took in $140 million.

Now Deadline reports that the Oscar nominated actor has been offered $20 million for the third movie in the action trilogy.

In the first move Neeson plays a retired CIA agent who has to use all of his 'particular set of skills' after his daughter is kidnapped in Paris.

Deadline reports they have a script well in the works from Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, who teamed up for the first two films.

Speaking about the success of the action movie before, the Ballymena born actor said when he first read the script for “Taken” he thought the movie would be a flop.

“I thought it would go straight to video for a start,” he told the Late Late Show last year.

He continued, “The 14-year-old boy in me thought, I have a chance to do some physical stuff, which I love to get the chance to do.

“It was a very simple story of a guy trying to look after his child, but I did think it was going straight to video”.
