Liam Neeson and Will Ferrell will be voice actors in the upcoming 3D Lego film “Lego: Piece of Resistance”. Ferrell will voice the film’s antagonist, President Business and Neeson will voice his henchmen, Bad Cop.

The Lego movie has a growing cast of impressive voice actors. Morgan Freeman (Deep Impact), Chris Pratt (10 Years), Nick Offerman (21 Jump Street), Will Arnett (TV’s ‘Arrested Development’), and Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games) had joined the cast before the addition of Neeson and Ferrell.

Neeson, whose recent film ‘Taken 2’ broke box office records, has lent his voice to other film characters. The star from Antrim was a voice actor in the kids’ TV series ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ and ‘A Child’s Garden of Poetry.’ Ferrell (Step Brothers) was recently heard in the Disney animated film ‘Wreck It Ralph.’

“Lego: Piece of Resistance” is set in the 3D Lego world and based on the kids’ toy line. The film’s protagonist, Emmet, voiced by Pratt, is a “instruction worker” who is mistaken to be the Lego world’s most powerful figure , the“Master Builder” by Lucy, voided by Brie. The Lego crew then goes on a quest to stop the evil tyrant, President Business from gluing the Lego world together. Offerman plays an “craggy, swaggering” pirate determined to get revenge on President Business and Brie plays a member of Emmet’s team who is hiding a secret.

The film is currently in production. Village Roadshow, an Australian based company who is also producing  the upcoming ‘Gangster Squad’ and ‘The Great Gatsby’ releases, is producing the Lego movie. Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and Roy Lee (The Departed) are the producers. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, both from ‘21 Jump Street,’ are directing based upon their original storyline according to the Irish Film and Television Network. Lord and Miller also wrote and directed ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’ which was was nominated for a Golden Globe says Time Entertainment. “Lego: Piece of Resistance” is Lego’s first full length feature film and is due for release on February 7, 2014.

Neeson will next be seen in an action thriller titled ‘Non Stop’ in which he plays an air marshall who must save passengers traveling on an airline. Julianne Moore will also star in the film.
