An Irish designer made his debut at New York Fashion Week recently. Don O’Neill, a Kerry born fashion designer and Creative Director of THEIA had his first Fashion Week runway show last Wednesday, February 15.

This show was the first runway show for O’Neill and marked a milestone in his successful 20-year career. The runway look featured thirty distinctive designs.

"This season I want to truly empower women. Athena, the Goddess of wisdom and courage, was a valiant warrior, who fiercely protected her people and their lands. In 2012 as we face challenging times, I want to imbue the THEIA woman with this sense of power and confidence that will help her stride forward, feeling brave, beautiful, and strong," said Don O'Neill.

Well known celebrities such Oprah Winfrey, Nicole Kidman, Natalie Portman and Taylor Swift have each worn the Irish man’s designs.

Established in 2009, this collection inspired by the Greek Goddess of light has grown to include eveningwear, bridal and day dresses. The designs combine sophisticated and elegant styling with luxurious silks, European brocades, laces, and prints. THEIA's exquisite beading and embroideries are created by some of the finest couture studios in the world. Each piece is meticulously stitched together to create exquisite dresses that flow beautifully around the body.

The THEIA collection is currently sold in over 350 stores globally including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and fine specialty stores.
