A few short years ago no one knew if a big screen reboot of the original Star Trek franchise would rock the box office, but along came director J.J. Abrams, determined to boldy re-cast all the original characters and send them off on a journey that was classic Trek and yet still fresh as a daisy.
Now the talented filmmaker has the show's dedicated fans in a frenzy of speculation as principal photography on the sequel films in Los Angeles.

When 'Star Trek' found love in 19th-century Ireland
The biggest unanswered questions at the moment involves the film's central villain, who may or may not be played by the BBC's gifted Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch. Fans are also delighted to hear the previous crew have reassembled, including heartthrob leads Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and John Cho.
Writer Damon Lindelof stirred the waters recently telling Hero Complex:
'I have had the good fortune to once again step upon the Enterprise bridge, surrounded by the primary colors worn by, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest casts ever assembled. Every single person involved with this movie has the same ambition — to do everything they can to justify the long wait, to live up to the lofty expectations of 40-year ‘Trek’ fans and those who are coming to the party for the first time. The energy is crackling. The warp core is primed. And we are, at long last, ready to boldly go once again. I hope to God we don’t screw it up.'
