Actress Jennifer Ehle, who plays Anastasia’s mother in the upcoming film “Fifty Shades of Grey,” says her co-star Jamie Dornan will be an ‘amazing’ lead as Christian Grey.

The "Zero Dark Thirty" actress made her remarks in a recent interview with E!

Dornan got the role of Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam backed out of the project. Other actors rumored to replace Hunnam included Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder. Dakota Johnson is still set to play leading lady Anastasia Steele. The film also stars Luke Grimes from “True Blood” as romantic rival Jose and Victor Rasuk from “The Lords of Dogtown” as Grey’s brother Elliot. The role of Anastasia’s roommate Katie Holmes has not yet been cast.

Filming is scheduled to start on December 2, about a month later than the originally planned.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is based on the first book of the best selling erotic trilogy by British author E. L. James. The trilogy follows the relationship between college graduate Anastasia Steele and young businessman Christian Grey. Critical reception of the book has been mixed. Many have criticized the books for their poor writing.

The Focus Features and Universal Pictures film will be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. Kelly Marcel wrote the screenplay and Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and E. L. James will produce.

Despite the delay in filming, "Fifty Shades of Grey" is still scheduled for its original release date of August 1, 2014.
