Veteran Irish American Broadway actor Sean Cullen is releasing his classic campaign song in support of the reelection of Barack Obama as President of the United States.

"Because it was written specifically in support of the President, in solidarity with his efforts to move the country forward -- and as a kind of wake-up call to all of us -- “O Yes we can” is a classic campaign song that's all about where America is now, in the fall of 2012."

On the night that Obama was elected in 2009, thousands gathered in Grant Park, Chicago, to celebrate his victory, along with the President-elect and his family. On that same night, in the Lincoln Center in New York, Cullen penned the first lyrics for his song “O Yes we can”. More specifically, he wrote his lyrics in the downstairs dressing room between entrances.

Cullen is best known for his work as an actor in such films as “Michael Clayton” and “Revolutionary Road”. He has guest-starred on nearly a dozen television series, including a recurring role on “Law & Order.”On Broadway he previously appeared in “Rogers & Hammerstein’s South Pacific”, “Coram Boy” and James Joyce’s “The Dead”.

This fall Cullen appears in Tony-winner Bart Sher's much-anticipated production of Clifford Odet's, “Golden Boy”.

“O Yes we can” was written (words and music) by Sean Cullen. He is joined on vocals by Broadway veteran Uzo Aduba (“Godspell”, most recently). Dan O'Sullivan added additional music and produced the record. Singer-songwriter Matt Keating co-produced, and two-time Grammy-winner Alex Vengeur mixed the track.

“O Yes we can” is available on iTunes or on Amazon.com.
