Lindsay Lohan has had told her attorney that she would like to spend time with her family before she is transferred to a rehab clinic after her prison stint.

Lohan’s attorney Shawn Chapman visited the troubled actress Tuesday and reported that the 24-year-old is doing well. Speaking outside the correctional facility he told reporters that Lohan doesn’t want to go directly from prison to rehab.

"The issue is how much time she will have once she's released before she has to serve the second part of her sentence ... which is rehab," Chapman said. "She'd obviously like to spend some time with her family, and there's at least some question as to whether or not she'll go directly to rehab. I think there's a push now for her to go directly to rehab from jail, and we don't think that would be fair."

The Mean Girls star is currently serving a 90-day sentence at a women’s detention centre in Lynwood California. She began he sentence on July 20 for violating terms of her probation related to her 2007 DUI conviction.
