Star of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, Domhnall Gleeson has been chosen as one of the Berlin International Film Festival’s Shooting Stars. He and nine other European actors will be in the spotlight at the event.

The ten actors were chosen from a list of 25 candidates by the European Film Promotion (EFP), the final ten actors were chosen by a jury film industry professionals.

The Berlinale will open with one of Domhnall’s most recent movies, “True Grit” from Ethan and Joel Coen. He also recently starred in Mark Romanek’s “Never Let Me Go” and portrayed Bob Geldof in a TV Drama “When Harvey Met Bob”. He is now lined up to star alongside his father, Brendan Gleeson, in “At Swim-Two-Birds”.

Following their decision the jury released a comment on Domhnall. Their decision had been greatly influenced by his role in the movie “Sensation”. Their statement read “As the likable loser in Sensation, Domhnall creates a unique world around the character with his quirky screen presence. It's a touching performance, full of intriguing contradictions.”
