The people of County Clare have extended their invitation to The Gathering in the form of a song written by songwriter and Ennis native, Peter Keane.

Originally written in 1999 as a millennium project following years spent playing the vibrant music scene in New York and Boston, the song is now a rousing request for all Clare people scattered worldwide to come home and reconnect with their home places.

When approached by Keane in 2012 with his proposal for the song, The Gathering Clare 2013 Steering Group immediately saw its potential as a great way of spreading County Clare’s welcoming message to the world.

Up and coming local group, Socks in the Frying Pan, who have recently released their self titled debut album, were chosen to sing ‘The Gathering’ with Aodán Coyne and brothers Shane and Fiachra Hayes making the song their own and guest vocalist Karen Cowley adding extra depth to the sound.

The song is now available on iTunes here.
