Donald Trump thinks he has everyone else's number, so he may be surprised to discover that someone finally has his.

According to the Huffington Post, NBC chief Bob Greenblatt is reportedly keeping a close eye on the Apprentice host.

Trump notoriously stalked President Obama during the 2012 election, indulging in wild speculation about his birth certificate and his political plans. Trump's increasingly paranoid bluster got so overblown that eventually Barbara Walters and even his own children implored him to stop.

Now Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Greenblatt took a second look at the network's most controversial star during the 2013 winter Television Critics Association press tour on Sunday.

'He has his political belief system but I really don’t think what he’s doing in his personal life is going to corrupt what he’s doing on the show,' Greenblatt said, attempting to sound optimistic.

He continued, 'That said, if he becomes somehow hurtful or says or does things that cross a line, we would figure out what to do about that.'

Greenblatt also thinks the network did the nation a service by convincing Trump to not run for president last year. 'Wasn't that good enough?' he joked.

NBC has become increasingly sensitive about its close relationship with Trump. In 2011, Irish American pundit Lawrence O'Donnell lambasted the network for keeping Trump on-air at all.

News anchor Brian Williams also dismissed Trump, saying he 'has driven well past the last exit to relevance and peered into something closer to irresponsible here,' during the election season.

Trump still phones in his political views during regular Fox News interviews. But according to Politico at the moment his targets are fellow Republicans, who he suggests have been played by Democrats on the recent fiscal cliff deal.

'Well, I’m a Republican and I will tell you that I’m so disappointed in what the Republicans are doing. I’m so disappointed in their negotiating ability and what happened recently. They could’ve wrapped up a big, beautiful package that would’ve been great for the country, but they didn’t choose to do it. Instead they’re going step-by-step and losing every step of the way. The Republicans are being eaten alive, step by step.'

Trump also slammed the party's negotiating skills.

'They had all the cards, I don’t know what’s happening. I don’t know who these negotiators are. They’re the worst I’ve ever seen,' Trump said.
