Corrigan Brothers, the band from Limerick whose international chart topper “There’s no one as Irish as Barack Obama” has achieved more than ten million YouTube hits and seen them perform for President Obama, are releasing a new single to celebrate Joe Biden’s county Louth roots called “Joe Biden’s Irish Home.”

The brothers are grateful to their friend and genealogist Megan Smolenyak whose research revealed President Obama’s Irish Roots and Mr Biden’s roots. Lead singer Ger Corrigan explained, “The Irish links unearthed by Megan are wonderful, and the link to county Louth for Joe Biden is a great story especially the story of his great Grandfather Finnegan who was a great fiddler. We met Mr Biden and he is a man of great sincerity and we are sure that he will have a great time in County Louth, there will be a mighty Hooley in Cooley.”

The Brothers, Ger, Brian, and Donncha, have recently provided the soundtrack for the Olympia Films production “George Clooney’s Irish Roots,” as well as having a song feature in the hit American Comedy “30 Rock.”  They also provided the Capital One Cup Final song for Bradford City Football Club and will provide the music and soundtrack as well as perform in a film marking the 75th Anniversary of Douglas “Wrongway” Corrigan’s famous flight from New York to Baldonell later this year. Ger Corrigan said, “We look forward to the Joe Biden Hooley in Cooley and hope we can persuade the Vice President to join us in performing the song.”

Corrigan Brothers are currently recording “Joe Biden’s Irish Home” and promise it will be an upbeat Party song. They are currently recording their second album “Our Favourite Irish Songs” and will tour the USA and Canada in September and October.

We know Obama’s Irish
And Joe Biden’s Irish too
He has roots in Mayo
But Joe is really proud
Of his ancestors the Finnegans
In Cooley County Louth

He’s coming home to Ireland
For a Gathering
The Finnegans were Fiddlers
And they’ll be Fiddling
He’ll get one thousand welcomes
A great cead mile failte
And everyone will raise a glass
To Joe , and they’ll shout Slainte

CHORUS

They’ll be fiddling , they’ll be dancing
They’ll have  a great old Hooley
When Joe Biden meets
His cousins, all the Finnegans in  Cooley

There’ll be celebrations everywhere
A welcome home parade
They’ll play the tunes that Joe’s
Great grandfather Played
His welcome will be wonderful
And Joe will be shown
That there’s great joy when a local boy
Of the Finnegan’s comes home

CHORUS

They’ll be fiddling , they’ll be dancing
They’ll have  a great old Hooley
When Joe Biden meets
His cousins, all the Finnegans in  Cooley

Chorus

And Joe will be made welcome
All the Locals will be proud
When he comes back to his old home
In Cooley County Louth

CHORUS

They’ll be fiddling , they’ll be dancing
They’ll have  a great old Hooley
When Joe Biden meets
His cousins, all the Finnegans in  Cooley
