UMass Lowell recently hosted an Irish American conference which examined how Irish immigrant's influenced the US and continues to shape it's culture.

The conference “Irish in Massachusetts: Historical Significance, Lasting Legacy” brought a variety of leaders from the worlds of politics, art, archaeology and history, to discuss and examine the impact how immigrants from Ireland helped shaped every aspect of American life.

The event which was co-sponsored by UMass Lowell and Queen’s University Belfast took place from Sept. 24 through Sept. 26 and the information presented at the three-day conference will be the basis for a permanent Irish-American exhibit in Lowell.
