The Annual Boston Harbor Cruise with the popular Irish band Devri will take place on Saturday, July 25. Now in it's 3rd year all monies raised will benefit the 'Lucy's Love Bus' foundation.

Boston based, Devri, are well known for their exciting and dynamic style of music delighting music fans at weddings, private events, and festivals with their mix of Irish music, as well as classic and modern rock, country and folk. Given their longevity and their popularity, Devri, have become one of the most popular Irish bands in New England. And every year, the band use their fame for good, with an annual cruise to benefit local cancer charity, Lucy's Love Bus.

Lead singer Declan Houton said, " I had the pleasure of meeting founder of the foundation, Beecher Grogan, six years ago at an event in Lowell and was instantly moved by her story and dedication to helping children with cancer in our area through Lucy's Love Bus, which is named after her daughter Lucy."

Houton remarked, "The members of Devri are delighted that this annual event is used to help raise funds & awareness of this great local charity which helps children with cancer in the New England area."

Established in 2006, Lucy's Love Bus was set up to honor the life of Lucy Grogan who died at age 11 from Acute Myeloid. The foundation provides free integrative therapies to all children with cancer to help manage the side effects and late effects of traditional cancer treatment.

So impressed by Lucy's Love Bus mission, the Devri front man, has since joined the charity as one of it's board members. He says he is delighted and amazed by the support the non-profit organization has received from the local Irish community. Houton said, "Over the past few years, we are so proud that the Boston's Irish Community has helped raised close to $80,000 for the charity by supporting events like Devri's Music Cruise, The Ceili a Lucy hosted by The Irish Social Club and Mr. Dooleys Annual Christmas Part."

Adding , "The support for these events from The Irish Emigrant and WROL Radio has been great, as well as the support from my fellow members in Devri, and tons of other local musicians who are always so willing to lend a hand."

This year, the cruise takes place on the MV Freedom and is Hawaii themed with prizes for best dressed. It sets sail from Rowes Wharf with a start time of 3pm and will return to shore at 7pm. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at Mr. Dooley's Irish Pub, 77 Broad Street, Boston; Paddy Barry's, 1574 Hancock Street, Quincy; or email info@DevriBand.com for more information.
