Stephen Colbert is set to host two fundraisers this month for his sister Elizabeth, who is running for the South Carolina's vacant seat in Congress.

The older sister of the Comedy Central star, Elizabeth Colbert Busch will be the Democratic name on the ballot in the May 7 general election. 

According to CNN Politics, the two political fundraisers will take place in Washington and New York, with a price tag of f $500, with special "event chair" tickets going as high as $10,000.

In the invite to the Washington and New York events, Stephen Colbert writes that, "Lulu and I have been through a lot together, and I know she is a bright, competent, caring woman who will work hard on behalf of all the citizens of South Carolina's 1st Congressional District."

Colbert adds: "It is rare for me to take an active role in anyone's political ambitions other than my own. But this is different – beyond a brother's love, I truly believe Lulu is the best candidate to represent my beloved Lowcountry in the United States Congress.”

Colbert Busch is the Director of Business Development at Clemson University’s Restoration Institute in South Carolina.
