When Canadian couple Stephen and Shannon Parker took their honeymoon to Ireland, they rented a car and toured the country by themselves, taking in the sights across 2,653km of the island, visiting Dublin and Belfast as well as Derry, Clare, Antrim, Cork, Kerry, Wicklow, Waterford, and Tipperary.

Along the way they recorded over 16 hours of film, which they then later condensed into a supercut video that encapsulated their whole three-week trip.

The nearly 20-minute video showcases many examples of Ireland's architecture, mountains, art, coastline, and traditional music sessions.

It also humorously demonstrates the challenge of driving "on the wrong side of the road" while sitting on "the wrong side of the car."

The video quickly became a viral sensation after the couple posted it on Reddit Ireland.

Due to the viral success of the video and the quality with which it was prepared, the couple have been invited back to the country in 2014, or when they best see fit to travel back, reports the Irish Independent.

The invitation was extended on behalf of Tourism Ireland and Air Canada rouge, with a statement from CEO of Tourism Ireland Niall Gibbons who said, "Their video is a superb showcase of the island of Ireland from the dramatic beauty of places like the Giant's Causeway and Connemara National Park, to the rich history of our heritage properties like Dunluce Castle and Dunguaire Castle, which also manages to convey the friendliness and the warm welcome people receive when they come here."

Gibbons went on to say that the video's popularity "will surely inspire other travellers around the world to come and experience the destination."

The couple, who are both from Toronto, can trace their lineage back to Ireland. Shannon's family hails from Limavady in Northern Ireland, whereas Stephen's family come from Dublin.

In advance of their next trip, Tourism Ireland has offered to help Stephen trace back his roots in the country. If you missed the video, you can check it out below:
