Healy had been living in Dublin for some time. She was originally from the neighborhood of Willsborough outside Ballinlough in County Roscommon.

Family friend and local councillor Michael McGreal said: “I know her family very well, we are all very upset. The whole community is in shock.”

Police are now investigating the tragic accident at a fairground site operated by McFadden’s Entertainments.

Owner Kenneth McFadden said: “We can’t say what happened, it all happened so quick. We are just in bits at the moment, we are just devastated.”

McFadden confirmed that his firm had operated the Tip Top ride for four years without any problems.
