Businessman Dan Adams from Boston has offered to help advertise the Donegal Gathering throughout the US.

Adams runs marketing business “All Over Media,” a successful ‘out of home’ static and will use his business to promote the Donegal Gathering in 2013. The Donegal Democrat reported he said, “The advertizing is currently running from Chicago to Denver, Florida to Minnesota, Boston to Texas and Carolina to Worcester and it is expanding all the time. Our corporate office has accepted organizing placement and tracking of all these ads and it will be free of charge.”

Adams’ marketing will feature in restaurants and on telephone boxes and gas pumps. Adams said it could run into tens of thousands of dollars. He intends to advertize the Donegal Gathering throughout the Massachusetts area, in which many people boast Irish heritage.  He also plans to use his franchising network to advertise it in fifteen other states.

Paddy Harte, Chairman of the Donegal Gathering, said he met Adams last year in Boston when Harte was promoting the Donegal Gathering. He commented on Adams’ offer, “It is incredible that the Donegal Gathering website and logo will have a presence across America for the coming year thanks to this fantastic gesture, this will definitely get Donegal on the map!”

Adams spoke recently on the Shaun Doherty Show on Highland Radio and explained he wanted to become involved with the Donegal Gathering in honor of his mother who passed away last September. His mother Marjorie’s family comes from Carndonagh in Donegal. Her maiden name is Coyle and her family has links to the McLaughlin family of the same area. Adams said he hopes to visit Donegal this year. The Donegal Democrat reported, “This is a prime example of what the Gathering aims to achieve by reconnecting people with their roots.”

Located in north western Ireland, the Donegal Gathering is one of the many events within the nationwide Gathering running throughout 2013. The Gathering invites all people who are Irish in heritage or spirit to come visit Ireland.
